Multisensory Spelling Program Level J is suitable for students with dyslexia and dysgraphia. It consists of 150 colour-coded words and is designed for students who have a spelling age of 9½ years. The multisensory spelling technique utilised in this book has been developed over many years and tried and tested on numerous students with excellent results. Research shows that learning is most effective when all senses are used and consequently this program requires students to use the visual, auditory, and tactile senses.
Where relevant spelling rules, morphology and etymology are included.
The program is based on the premise that phonemic knowledge provides the building blocks of literacy and consequently it is recommended that the book be used in conjunction with a systematic and sequential phonics program.

I’m so thrilled to say that for my eldest there has been a dramatic improvement in her spelling ability and spelling retention, even for words we haven’t reviewed consistently each week. It seems looking at the words broken down into sounds and their qualities and discussing spelling rules is really helping imprint the correct spellings in her long term memory writing memory, not just her spelling memory. Her dictation results are starting to look very good too, along with her ability to consider other words that use the same spellings for the same sounds. She is an avid reader and I think the spelling program is really helping her make connections in her mind with the words she sees on the page and the words that flow out of her pen.
